The Minitrekking is run by Hielo y Aventura. A boat takes you from its pier at Bajo de las Sombras across the Brazo Rico, and a guide leads the group on the ice of the Perito Moreno, with crampons. Several agencies resell the same walk under their own titles and add a transfer, the walkways or both, which is why the listed length runs from four and a half to eleven hours.

Where to book the Minitrekking

Every listing here is a guided walk on the ice with crampons, and none includes the park fee. The differences lie in how long the day is, who may join, and whether a hotel transfer is part of it.

About this trip

Howlanders sells Minitrekking 2, described as the longer version of the ice walk on the Perito Moreno, with the boat crossing and an optional transfer.

The age limits are stricter than for the standard Minitrekking: 17 to 55.

Facts from the product page on the booking platform and the operators’ own information, checked in October 2026.

The age window is applied without exceptions

Hielo y Aventura accepts guests from 8 to 65 on the standard Minitrekking and applies the limits strictly. Guests aged 8 to 17 need written permission from their parents, and every participant fills in a medical form before the day; one reviewer was asked about medical conditions weeks in advance. Minitrekking 2, the longer version sold by Howlanders, is open only to ages 17 to 55.

Travelling with a child under 8 or someone over 65? The Blue Safari reaches the south face on a shore path, open to ages 6 to 70, and the Safari Náutico boat states no age limit.

Operator and resellers

The Hielo y Aventura listing is sold by the company that runs the walk itself. The Patagonia Dreams listing offers options with or without transfer and walkways, and a reviewer of it reports that Hielo y Aventura guided the ice part. Gray Line sells it as a full day with hotel pickup in one option, and Tangol as a full day with transfer.

What the listings say about the season

The sources do not agree. Some describe the Minitrekking as year-round, while the Tangol listing gives early August to early June. October to April is the main season, and outside it the dates on the booking calendar are what counts. Weather and season lists the calendar of every trip on the lake.

Park fee, in cash or online

No listing includes the entrance. Tangol asks for it in cash, in Argentine pesos, at the park entrance, and Gray Line says it is paid on arrival. The pass can also be bought online in advance; the park fee page has the current rates.

More time on the ice

The Minitrekking is the short walk. Big Ice spends about three hours and 12 km on the glacier, for ages 18 to 50 and only from September to April. Minitrekking or Big Ice compares the two side by side.

Reviews from the Minitrekking

Reviewers praise the guides on the ice. The critical points are about what happens around the walk: a bus guide whose English was hard to follow, and questions about medical conditions asked weeks before the day.

“Absolutely worth the money, all guides were excellent - once in a lifetime experience which is definitely worth doing!”
Verified traveler · United Kingdom · August 2026 Minitrekking · Hielo y Aventura
“It has been wonderful and very impressive. Everything was organized perfect and the guides Tamara, Leandro y Leandris were awesome. Thank you so much for this experience.”
Nadine · Germany · November 2025 Minitrekking · Gray Line
“Punctual, no wasted time. Excellent activity. Well paced and it did not feel rushed. Guides were great, safe and patient. The guide on the initial bus ride had a very strong accent and her English was difficult to understand. …”
Michael · United States · May 2026 Minitrekking · Patagonia Dreams
“The tour was great and the tour guides were great too! Beautiful glacier and it will be a memorable tour. My problem stems with the office personnel. They asked weeks in advance of medical conditions. …”
